Our Mission
The mission of South Baltimore Learning Center is to improve the self-sufficiency of educationally disadvantaged
adults. SBLC is a community-based nonprofit organization providing functional literacy and life skills training, in
addition to career preparation services, to residents in the Baltimore Area.

Our Vision
SBLC’s vision is to: increase the pool of literate and skilled workers in the City of Baltimore; increase the number of adults with a high school diploma; and help break the cycle of poverty by breaking the cycle of low educational attainment in generations of families.  In order to achieve this vision the SBLC seeks to be a model learning center by achieving the following goals over the next three years;

  ·      An organizational structure that promotes quality outcomes that are
      data-based and long-term.
  ·      Fundraising that is sufficient to fully support initiatives of the strategic plan.
  ·      Full utilization of building, staff and programs.
