Leaders in  Literacy

This leadership team is made up of donors who have contributed a minimum of $1,000 in a given year.  They are Board members, Advisory Council members and other dedicated members of the SBLC family committed to improving the lives of people throughout Baltimore through literacy classes and related programs and activities. Leaders in Literacy are recognized with a plaque in our entrance and throughout the year in SBLC’s publications and at events.  In addition, Leaders are kept up-to-date on all major news via email from the Executive director and receive invitations to special programs and events.

 

Individual Donations/Charity Campaigns

You can contribute directly to SBLC or via a charity campaign through your place of employment. Simply designate SOUTH BALTIMORE LEARNING CENTER as the beneficiary of your contribution using the following codes:

 

6520 for:

United Way of Central Maryland - employees of private companies

Combined Charity Campaign - employees of Baltimore City Government agencies

Maryland Charity Campaign - employees of Federal agencies

 

 Stock Donations

 SBLC accepts stock donations both electronically and via mail. For more information on    making a gift of stock please email Melissa Bishop, Development Associate or call 410-625-4215.

 

Matching Employer Gifts

Many companies offer to match donations made by employees to 501(c)3 charities particularly if the donation is made during the end of the year holidays. If you intend to make a gift to SBLC or have already made a gift please check with your employer to find out if they offer matching gifts.

Planned Gifts

South Baltimore Learning Center accepts many different types of future giving.  You can include SBLC in your will; name SBLC as a beneficiary of your life insurance, IRA or other retirement fund; set up a trust or annuity.  Please consult with your financial advisor to consider planned giving and discuss your options.

In-Kind Donations

South Baltimore Learning Center has a wish list of items that are always welcome including:

Ostend St. Baltimore, MD 21230, (410) 625-4215.  Documents and information submitted to the State of Maryland under the Maryland charitable Solicitations Act are available from the Office of the Secretary of State for the cost of copying and postage.
