FALL 2007classes begin September 17th and 18th. A placement test is necessary to determine a
learner's class level. Call SBLC at 410-625-4215 for a phone interview and to
schedule a time to take the placement test. Please do not bring children
when
you come to take the placement test.
Learners must be at
least 17 years old, a Baltimore city resident, and have been officially
withdrawn from the Baltimore City Public School system for at least six months.
Classes are held during day and evening hours, twice a week, 3 hours a day
(6 hours a week). Individual tutoring, ABE, Pre-GED and GED classes are offered.
A semester is approximately 12 weeks; classes are given during the fall, spring and summer.
Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes and Pre-GED classes are free. Students assigned to GED classes pay a first time class fee of $60.00
for the 2-day a week class and $75 for the 5-day a week classthis includes your book. Thereafter, GED classes cost $45.00 each semester for returning students.
Please allow three hours for
testing.
